Job Description

As a Care Worker with Vovo Care Ltd, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to elderly residents in care homes. You will assist with daily activities, manage medications, provide personal care, and offer companionship. This role requires individuals who are empathetic, reliable, and dedicated to improving the lives of those they care for. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure residents receive holistic care tailored to their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Support residents with mobility, using appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals, adhering to proper protocols and documentation procedures.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a warm, respectful, and supportive environment.
  • Monitor and record changes in residents’ physical and emotional conditions, reporting any concerns to supervisory staff promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other care staff to develop and implement personalized care plans.
  • Promote residents’ independence and autonomy wherever possible, encouraging participation in activities and social engagement.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents, adhering to health and safety regulations.

 

What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in caregiving or a similar role is preferred but not essential. We value dedication and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to care, with a genuine desire to improve the lives of elderly individuals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic care environment.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of residents.
  • A proactive attitude towards personal development and training.

 

Training and Certification Requirements
  • Care Certificate (required or willingness to obtain upon employment).
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Manual Handling and Basic Life Support training (required or willingness to complete upon employment).
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (required).
  • Ongoing commitment to professional development and compliance with relevant care standards.
